Headlines of political instability, transport accidents and natural disasters are commonplace in the news of our day. In its annual global survey of terrorism the State Department says about 14,000 attacks took place in 2006, mainly in Iraq and Afghanistan. These strikes claimed more than 20,000 lives — two-thirds in Iraq. That is 3,000 more attacks than in 2005 and 5,800 more deaths.
The "Annual Disaster Statistical Review" from CRED details 427 reported natural disasters in 2006 that killed more than 23,000 people, affected almost 143 million others, and were the cause of more than US$34.5 billion in economic damages.
All of these events are likely to be an enduring part of the international landscape for the foreseeable future and as a result, industries around the globe may face situations where they become involved in issues of proving identity.
ID-Secure is a DNA profiling service for companies and organisations that can, when required, help your organisation by significantly reducing the time and difficulty involved in establishing identity, and in unfortunate circumstances providing closure for relatives.
